The space between us is always growing. Once you were inside me, safe and warm and wiggling, protected from the cruel vulgarities of the world. Now I see my mirror images weaving their own dreams, making choices and mistakes like I once did, their orbits venturing further from mine every year.

Mother love is formidable, and the mother-daughter relationship is filled with a potent mix of imitation, intimacy and fear.  Intentionally and unconsciously, we pass down volumes of coded messages to our ever-watchful children. This series of photographs and performances explores the push-pull of this foundational bond and how the choices we make reverberate through generations.
